Tractatus 1921 – 2021
The Joint Research Center in Logic of Tsinghua University and the University of Amsterdam announces a series of lectures in commemoration of the fact that in 2021 it is 100 years ago that Ludwig Wittgenstein’s seminal book, Logisch-Philosophische Abhandlung – Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus, first appeared in Ostwald’s Annalen der Naturphilosophie.
The lectures will be given by renowned scholars and will focus on various aspects of the Tractatus: ways of reading the text; the role played by logic; the connections with ethics; the impact the book has had; and the context in which it was written.
The lecture series is organised by Hao Tang (cogitang@yahoo.com) and Martin Stokhof (m.j.b.stokhof@uva.nl) of the Joint Research Center in Logic of Tsinghua University and the University of Amsterdam (http://tsinghualogic.net/JRC).
