Balder ten Cate is an associate professor at the University of Amsterdam, where he lead the theoretical computer science research unit of the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation (ILLC). His research spans different applications of logic in computer science and AI, with a particular focus on data management, knowledge representation, and machine learning. In the past, he worked at INRIA, UC Santa Cruz, Stanford, LogicBlox, and Google.
